Scott joined the firm upon graduating from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2000. Prior to entering law school, Scott owned and operated a retail business and a real estate brokerage firm with his brother. Those experiences have given Scott a more comprehensive understanding of the issues and challenges faced by the people he represents. His law practice is concentrated in the area of commercial property and business transactions. Scott has extensive experience representing a range of clients from individuals and small businesses, to multi-billion dollar companies in acquiring, selling, and leasing real property and business assets. Whether negotiating and drafting leases, purchase contracts, loan documents, easement and access agreements, restrictive covenants, escrow agreements, or other similar documents, Scott's primary objective is always to identify and minimize risks for the client without unnecessarily hindering the transaction. Having represented buyers, sellers, tenants, and landlords, in a variety of retail, office, and industrial projects, Scott has developed a strong ability to recognize potential issues and fashion workable solutions to those problems in a manner most favorable to his client's interests.
